Area 51 Raid

Just last Friday, a historical event took place-- thousands came to Nevada for the sole purpose of finding aliens.

Area 51 has been the subject of conspiracies since the 1950s, a popular topic being aliens hidden within. On June 27th, streamer Matty Roberts(SmyleeKun) created a joke event on Facebook that would later become the legendary Storm Area 51, They Can't Stop All of Us. He severely underestimated the power of the Internet, and millions had signed up to storm the highly classified government facility.

Of course, the actual government took note and Roberts switched gears, and started promoting Alienstock, a music festival to be held in Rachel. However he then backed out, claiming it would be a "humanitarian disaster".  Alienstock will take place in Las Vegas, though.

On the fated day, September 20, the actual storming was... less than stellar, but it was still quite an event. Only about 200 people actually showed up, while a few thousand others took to participating in music festivals nearby instead. The "raid" was more just people showing up to hang out and have fun, make new friends, talk with the guards... they really did come in peace. It was not at all as serious as residents of nearby towns and the government itself had feared and expected.

Numerous photos and videos of the event making rounds across the Web. One in particular involves an individual Naruto running behind a reporter, referencing the idea that "if we Naruto run we can dodge their bullets".

  Look at them go!

Nobody actually raided the area-- except for one unidentified woman who just walked right in as everyone watched in awe.

According to the poster of the original Tweet, the cops couldn't go after her since they were only state cops, and Area 51 is a federal base. She got scooped up by two trucks about half a mile in. She's probably in jail now.

Besides that and a small handful of other arrests, the Area 51 raid was an overall pleasant experience. Thankfully, nobody got shot down... unless the government has already covered it up.

Sorry to end on a dark note, but this makes you think. The fact that nobody died in Area 51 proves that there's more danger in going to school than a military base...
